A 2-year-old girl was fatally struck in an apparent accident when she wandered in front of an SUV as her mom unloaded packages in Queens, cops said.
The toddler was standing with her 23-year-old mom — who was removing packages from a 2021 Nissan Rogue on 216th Street near 38th Avenue in Bayside just after 10 p.m. Sunday — but then suddenly walked to the front of the vehicle, police said.
The 23-year-old man behind the wheel started to drive off, striking the child, cops said.
The motorist, whose relationship to the mother and daughter was not immediately clear, rushed the child to Flushing Hospital Medical Center, cops said.
The tot, who had suffered severe head trauma, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Her name was not immediately released.
No arrests have been made, authorities said.
